I’m fresh back from a mini-vacation at the most unique AirBnB I’ve ever seen…in pictures or in person. If you’re friends with me or Brian on social media, you’ve probably seen us freaking out about it already…but really…it’s so beautiful. So magical. It’s like falling down a rabbit hole and ending up in a cross between Wonderland and the rainforest. Unbelievable. The pictures I looked at when I chose this AirBnB don’t do it justice, just as our photos don’t do it justice.
If you think you might seriously consider a trip to the Coconut Casita, I would encourage you to stop reading right now and wait to experience all the wonder of the place in person…but if you don’t like to be told what to do, read on! LOL. Either way, you’ll be amazed when you see it for yourself! I was mesmerized as soon as I walked in the door. The Casita is gorgeous. So tropical, so exotic. I’ve never seen a place like it. There were gigantic leaves from tropical plants in vases everywhere. The natural light and the unique decorating make it a truly special place. If you want to see the house, look it up online: Coconut Casita Vero Beach. I’m focusing on the garden here, mainly because I’m not looking to write a book-length blog π

Linda, the owner, gave me a garden tour and I learned so much. She’s incredibly knowledgable, sweet, and generous, and answered all my questions. The first thing that struck me was how tall the trees and plants were. Some of them are houseplants familiar to me, except that they were taller than a two-story house! For example, remember my monstera plant from the last blog (mine’s about 3 feet high)? This one…

…this one climbs probably 20 feet or more up this tree! And I would guess those leaves are about 3 feet across! What’s really shocking is Linda told me that most of this has grown in the last 10 years or so. She and her mom started this garden about 16 years ago, but it’s been decimated by hurricanes more than once. I guess subtropical weather is a beauty and a beast type of situation.
I learned about so many types of plants I’ve never heard of. This: (what I thought was a Bird of Paradise) is called a Travellers Palm. Take a look at the size comparison of those patio chairs in the second picture!

This was one of my favorite little sitting areas…mostly because the plant arrangement on the table is so whimsical and fairy-gardenish. Here you can see it a little better:

Speaking of seating areas, that’s what made this garden so magical. Every time you round a corner, you see another little place to rest and take in the beauty. One of my favorite and most recurring dreams is that I’m moving into a new place and as I’m walking around, the house keeps going and going, opening into one beautiful and interesting place after another. That’s what this garden feels like.

I could write about this place for days, but for now I’ll leave you with a few more pictures from walking on the paths, and of the plant starts I got on my garden tour. I’ll keep you updated on the progress of my very own tropical garden ππ±βοΈ

So…is it your life dream to grow a tropical wonderland jungle now, or is it just me? π
This is beautiful! I will definitely look into this place because I go to Vero a few times a year. Thanks for the information.
